Different types of glass

How is a watch replaced?

First, the watch is dismantled, whereby the screws and crowns are loosened. The watchmaker carefully removes the glass and ensures that any remaining glue residues are removed.

The new glass must fit perfectly. For this reason, the diameter and thickness of the old glass is precisely measured. The new glass is placed with a special glue, which dries under a UV lamp. The watch is then reassembled.
